David A. Dodge

Mr. Dodge graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor and received his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Indiana University School of Law – Bloomington.  Following law school, Mr. Dodge served three years on active duty as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged at the rank of Captain.  At the conclusion of his active duty service, Mr. Dodge began practicing as an Assistant Prosecutor for the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office.  He began his own private criminal defense practice in Grand Rapids.  Mr. Dodge has now been practicing in the area of criminal law for more than forty years.  In these forty years, Mr. Dodge has handled thousands of criminal cases in more than 25 counties throughout the State of Michigan and in Federal Courts including the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Cincinnati, OH, and the United States Supreme Court.  He has served as a chair-person for the Michigan State Bar Prisons and Corrections and had active involvement in professional associations.  Mr. Dodge has taught and lectured on various legal topics involving criminal law and trial practice.  He continues to focus his practice exclusively in State and Federal criminal defense law.  He is admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan, the State of Indiana, several U.S. Districts Courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.  Mr. Dodge is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, the American Bar Association, and the Grand Rapids Bar Association.
